There is a file ".config" in the kernel dir. It contains the information for the kernel settings. The "SuSE" configs are somewhere on CD1. I missed to make a note on that ;-(.

scanner. Some guys on the SANE list say that SuSE already have the SCSI modules compiled and I can use those without having to recompile. (I notice a scanner setup in yast for example). A little confused. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
et up your scanner via yast modprobe your_scsi_module find-scanner (a tool that looks for it, to prove it's there) xscanimage (should show a divice /dev/scanner and/or /dev/sg? to prove it's found as a supported scanner) and that's almost all I know about it, Steve. There are a few more testing tools mentioned either in the dokumentation or man pages... Juergen xscanimage
Thanks, Steve
