hi all, i need some help on these following exerpts from the boot-prompt howto i do have 2 working framebuffers (/dev/fb0 and /dev/fb1) 5.1 The `video=map:...' Argument This option is used to set/override the console to frame buffer device mapping. A comma separated list of numbers sets the mapping, with the value of option N taken to be the frame buffer device number for console N. if i do: video=map:0,0,0,1,1,1 the machine boots, but stops at some point after throwing out loads of numbers I also tried video=map:1,1,1,2,2,2 but that stops even earlier with the screen turning unreadable Do i have to specify, where all 12 consoles go? like video=map:1,1,1,2,2,2,1,2,1,1,1,1 ?? 5.3 The `video=vc:...' Argument A number, or a range of numbers (e.g. video=vc:2-5) will specify the first, or the first and last frame buffer virtual console(s). The use of this option also has the effect of setting the frame buffer console to not be the default console. i tried setting this in several ways: video=map:1 makes everything behaves as normal video=map:2-5 (like the example) results in no boot output, and a hung system video=map:1-3 makes the first 3 consoles work, but when i try to startx the system hangs upon display of the X grey canvas what i am trying to do is redistribute my consoles on 2 screens... help thanks already...
