I am reading a little about the reiserfs and have a few questions if anybody can answer them. Is the reiser fs going to be replacing ext2 in the near future? What are the advantages/disadvantages. Can I boot from it or do I need to keep / as ext2? The reason I am asking is I am looking to get a larger hard drive and the reiserfs seems to be designed for that. Any input would be greatly appreciated. TIA.
It's true there is a lot of talk about that. I guess it will take over, not nessesaryly in the near future (whatever "near" means. ;-) I won't think it's the a replacement for ext2 in 6.4, but an option). From what I recently read in the i'X magazin, there are a few notches, but all these critics are both quite constructive and objective, it's stable but will need some fine tuning. Give it another 6-12 month to mature. Juergen
