Ghost will quite happily back up linux (either produce am image file or a clone disk) but needs running from Dos - I tried it with Dosemu & didn't get very far. The linux equivalent would be dd (disk dump). On Thu, 9 Mar 2000, m thompso wrote:
Norton Ghost 2000 will accomplish this task but I think it was designed to run on either MS-DOS or MS Windoze. It says that it will backup an entire HD (independent of the filesystem). I'm currently looking for the same thing as you and Norton Ghost 2000 is the only thing I've run across so far. I'm still looking for a Linux equivalent, but I haven't found anything so far.

Is it possible to backup partitions on to cd-rw? I have some partitions greater than 650mb and wondered if there is software that backups over 2 or more cd-rw? I believe backups to zip disks can span over 2 or more disks, does the same apply to cd-rw?
Thanks Rich
