I think it's not so easy to realize it. Init starts mingetty. cat /etc/inittab | grep mingetty 1:123:respawn:/sbin/mingetty --noclear tty1 2:123:respawn:/sbin/mingetty tty2 3:123:respawn:/sbin/mingetty tty3 4:123:respawn:/sbin/mingetty tty4 5:123:respawn:/sbin/mingetty tty5 6:123:respawn:/sbin/mingetty tty6
But in the Manpage of mingetty there is no Option for your purpose. OPTIONS --noclear Do not clear the screen before prompting for the login name (the screen is normally cleared).
--long-hostname By default the hostname is only printed until the first dot. With this option enabled, the full text from gethostname() is shown.
--noreset By default the terminal settings will be initial ized to some sane default values. With this option the terminal settings will not be changed.
Try another getty or patch mingetty for your purpose, I think it's the only way.
