Hi,
I would take a look at Inprise's Interbase RDBMS.
According to the Licence Iterbase 4.0 is for rh 4.2 only :)
It is only 'offically' certificated on rh4.2, but I works fine on SuSE 6.1 and 6.3 as well as many other distros.
This is not a problem of certification or distros. This is a problem of the Licence:
I know a few of the R&D guys at Inprise, and I am trying to get an official response. The "official" response when you talk to them or phone them, is they don't care what distro you run it on as it is now an unsupported (but widely used) version. The reason the licence says it is certificated only for Red Hat 4, is that is the only version they tested it on (to be Y2K, QC etc.). As this version is only available in binary format they cannot guarantee that it will work with any other distro, but it should do. They actually helped me get it running on SuSE.
Cheers
Phil
Well, Official, "official" certificated, licenced and so on. Cheers _j -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
