I'm trying to use a Creative ModemBlaster PCI (formerly DigiCom 5630) with the v6.3 distro. The SDB says, for PCI modems in general, to add a manual configuration that tells the kernel how the BIOS configures the card. scanpci shows an I/O region at 0xdc00 and the IRQ line reg is 0x0b, so I put this line into /sbin/rc.d/serial
/sbin/setserial /dev/ttyS2 irq 0x0b port 0xdc00
This doesn't seem to work and I'm stuck -- does a driver exists for the 5630 or has anyone gotten this to work with similar steps?
I'm afraid you're not going to get this modem to work, as it is in fact a winmodem :( Your only option is to get a real modem (although it is possible that in two or three months there willl be a driver for that modem, but this isn't likely).
