hey, several months ago i had a problem with not being able to connect to irc servers.... then i upgraded to SuSE 6.3 and for awhile i could connect, apparently i've changed something unknowingly, because now i again cannot connect to irc servers...... i get a reply from the servers saying: **Connecting to port 6667 of server irc.efnet.net **Looking up your hostname.... **Checking Ident **Found your hostname **Got Ident response **Closing Link:207.0.205.157(You are not authorized to use this server) **Connection closed from irc.efnet.net:Remote end closed connection **Unable to connect to server irc.efnet.net i checked the ip# in my /var/log/messages and it is the ip# the isp assigned during login.......i don't think it is an isp problem as i have tried both of my isp's with the same results, also i have tried many irc servers with the same results. i see there is a ident.conf file in /etc, i haven't changed anything there, it is as Yast installed it..... ppp works flawlessly otherwise......
