Hello, I was just looking around for a simple graphical backup program that I could use with a 4/8 Gig DAT drive and found kdat. It is pretty much all that I need since I'm just using it at home. My problem is that it seems to backup properly but when I restore just a few files it doesn't restore exactly the files I ask for. It will restore only a couple of the ones I ask for plus a few others. It would probably restore everything properly if I chose everything but that's obviously not always necessary. Anybody use kdat here? On the KDE site they have an open bug report from long ago. Anybody have any other free, simple suggestions? I've been trying amanda, (gui isn't totally necessary) but I haven't been successful with it. so far tar, dump, and restore have been working ok, maybe I'll just stick with them.
