Tried that. There is an opt/gnome directory so I am assuming it is installed. Opened an xterm, typed 'gnome-session' and got an unknown command error. rh On Wed, 09 Feb 2000, Paul Sims wrote: > look in /opt - if Gnome is home you'll have an /opt/gnome directory. Can someone tell me how I can get gnome to work. I did select it as an option to install but trying to switch to gnome using methods suggested by others previously on this list, doesn't work? How do I check to make sure it is installed for example? I want to try Gnome instead of KDE just to make up my own mind which one I like better. And why doesn't Suse provide updates to gnome on its ftp site like it does for KDE?
