I recently upgraded my SuSE 6.2 install to 6.3. I never really tried playing mp3's before this, however now I am having serious playback problem using mpg123 and xmms. I compiled mpg123 and I seem to have the most control over it. However the problem appears to based on sampling and I can't completely GET it. Xmms is an entirely different story. I can not get it in the ball-park at all. I thought that the problem could be based in part on a bad mp3 source so I ripped and encoded my own from this system. Playback was still bad. If that weren't bad enough, I was able to move the file to my redhat machine and it played perfectly under xmms. Currently, my sound is configured properly. I can do anything with sound other then play mp3's. I can even use the cd plug-in under xmms and play standard audio cd's without any problem whatsoever. I have searched through the support database and I seem to be the only person having any problems of this nature. Short of removing all mp3 related problems and their associate libraries and re-installing I'm at a loss. If anyone could give me any guidance on where to turn next I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in Advance!
