we've installed the new reiserfs 3.5.16 on all partitions (and boot from reiserfs) During the install with the new yast, we are not able to create a /boot partition less than 100MB. mkreiserfs gives an error message after a while saying: block should be size 8096 but is 40xx We've tried 10, 20,40,50,70 and 100MB sizes.
You should not use ReiserFS on the /boot partition for two reasons: o it is possible, that LILO cannot boot the kernel from there o The log journal itself requires some space on the file system. Therefore you should have at least 100 MB for ReiserFS Apart from that: there is not much change on the /boot partition. It really does not make sense to use a journalling file system for this :) Bye, LenZ -- ------------------------------------------------------------------ Lenz Grimmer SuSE GmbH mailto:grimmer@suse.de Schanzaeckerstr. 10 http://www.suse.de/~grimmer 90443 Nuernberg, Germany -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
