Not getting any except for 100% packet loss
Have you checked the physical media and hardware between the two boxes? That would have been my first port of call before checking software.. Also, is there a link passing between the two? If it is a shared media network (hub, not switch) try loading up iptraf on the server and running a MAC scan to see which stations are transmitting..
