This is pretty much what I did. Run configure untill it worked, which required installing some other packages, but not as many as it appears you'll need. autoconf and automake are on the SuSE CD. I must have installed them for some other reason.
aclocal is on my system, but I honestly don't know what it is or where it came from. My guess (and it's only a guess) is that it's part of the Gnome package.
Perhaps another reader of the list can enlighten us.
I *think* gfontview uses Gnome stuff (hence the "g").

Did u install t1lib before installing gfontview? Did you manage to set up t1lib? I had a bit of trouble doin this.
I couldn't even get started, alas. I picked up gfontview-0.3.2 from metalab.unc.edu, unpacked it, and did a ./configure according to the installation instructions. What I got was:
checking for a BSD compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c checking whether build environment is sane... yes checking whether make sets ${make}... yes checking for working aclocal... missing checking for working autoconf... missing checking for working automake... missing checking for working autoheader... missing checking for working makeinfo... found checking for c++... c++ checking whether the C++ compiler (c++O2 ) works... no configure: error installation or configuration problem: C++ compiler cannot create executables
Any ideas as to what the problem might be?
