I attempted to print one of the Howto Postscript files (*.ps.gz) and ran into the problem that the page headers were being clipped off because my printer is using 8 1/2 x 11 paper (standard American issue) and the PostScript file is apparently set up for European paper. I also tried using dvips on the .dvi file, but that didn't work because the Howto uses some fonts (dcit1000, dcbi1200, etc.) that my TeX installation doesn't know about.
Any suggestions on how to print these things?

Paul, what I do in these circumstances is to run pstops over the manuscript. I even have an alias defined for this which does a good job for most cases: alias ps2ps='pstops -pletter 1:\(0,-0.9cm\)' However, you may want to experiment a bit with your particular file if this doesn't do the trick, i.e., shift it around on the page a bit more. Usually the A4 layout, although being a little longer than letter will still fit on a letter page albeit with smaller top and bottom margins than originally intended.
