hi list,
some time ago i posted about the probles with rgb.txt that was removed in newer
version of xorg-x11 (>=7.0).
I was trying the 'xcmsdb' cmd. Here is a much more simple solution:

example file: cms

XCMS_COLORDB_START 0.1
TEST1 RGB:ed/f8/b1
TEST2 RGB:c7/e9/b4
TEST3 RGB:7f/cd/bb
TEST4 RGB:41/b6/c4
TEST5 RGB:1d/91/c0
TEST6 RGB:22/5e/a8
TEST7 RGB:0c/2c/84
TEST8 RGB:8b/00/8b
XCMS_COLORDB_END

export XCMSDB=<path>/cms

you will notice that xterm -bg TEST1 will fail before the export.

note: i found the parser in very unstable since no error propper cheching is
done,
return codes not checked etc.
