Hi,

If I'm not wrong this abbreviations are explained at the commentaries.

#. https options
#. translators: a/r/i/u are replies to the "Abort, retry, ignore?" prompt.
#. Translate the a/r/i part exactly as you did the a/r/i string.
#. The 'u' reply means 'Change URI'.
#. https protocol-specific options:
#. 's' stands for Disable SSL certificate authority check
#: ../src/callbacks/media.cc:72
msgid "a/r/i/u/s"
msgstr "c/r/i/u/s"

#. cd/dvd options
#. translators: a/r/i/u are replies to the "Abort, retry, ignore?" prompt.

You don't have to translate them, those are the buttons to press to
select one of the options zypper offers to user: (a)bort, (r)etry,
(i)gnore and so on.

But he prolly should translate them according to how he translated those - or
the user will have hard time guessing.

Exactly -- which means the devs should have documented that fact as a
"comment to translator" in the
code.
