You don't have to translate them, those are the buttons to press to
select one of the options zypper offers to user: (a)bort, (r)etry,
(i)gnore and so on.

But he prolly should translate them according to how he translated those - or
the user will have hard time guessing.

Exactly -- which means the devs should have documented that fact as a "comment
to translator" in the
code.
