Er... a keyword must never be offered for translation.

Anything that is included in the pot file is by definition translatable, and it is the responsability of the programmer to ensure that nothing not translatable gets into the pot file. >:-)

Exceptions must be documented in the comments for translators:

#. EXTRACTED-COMMENTS <<=== here :-)
#: REFERENCE...
#, FLAG...
#| msgid PREVIOUS-UNTRANSLATED-STRING

However, it is different when it is a help text or something that makes reference to the keyword: then the translator has to, somehow, mention both the keyword and the translation, so that the reader understands the meaning of the text.

And that is some of what makes our job as translators difficult ;-)
