Now the 1st translation cycle is going to start. The LCN part is updated and files are merged; calling 'svn up' you should see zypp as one of the files updated today. YaST will follow tomorrow. Team coordinators, please create an account on http://developer.novell.com and mail me your account name and your language. Subscribe yourself to the "dev" mailinglist that is announced at http://forge.novell.com/mailman/listinfo/suse-i18n-dev. All the other team members are encouraged to subscribe themselves to this list, too. (Aside, we must work out whether we actually need the opensuse-translation list.) You can start working on the files immediately. Be warned, POT files are still a matter of change, and thus new and fuzzy strings will appear in PO files until the 1st translation cycle officially starts. Also be prepared to resolve check-in conflicts caused by daily merging. Postpone the packages_* files. ATM, we do not intend to include these PDB related translations. [opensuse-translation] Dutch Translation team

Although there seems to exist a Dutch translation team (language code nl), there does not seem to exist a team coordinator. I present myself to be such a team coordinator. [opensuse-translation] Strange values in statistics...

The last few days the statistics have looked somewhat strange and so I have a couple of questions: 1) Why do some languages have more and others fewer total lines to translate than the majority? Shouldn't it be the same for every language? Position Language Translated % Fuzzy % Untranslated % Total Graph 1. Finnish (fi) 25161 99 % 4 0 % 21 0 % 25186 2. Javanese (jv) 0 0 % 0 0 % 25155 100 % 25155 The second question is mostly: Why would 99% be above 100%? I know it's more than likely because they have translated more strings in total, but then again, why would some languages have more english texts to translate than others? Hello, I have not embarked on the YaST files yet, and I have a question: In the old days Antje used to inform about certain YasT files which where not necessary to translate. I'm not sure about the reason but I think it was because they were for SLED/SLES only and would not be used in the standard version of SUSE and/or would be translated elsewhere. Is this still the case, and if so, which files could we safely skip? [opensuse-translation] SPAM: Estonian translation

I'm glad to announce that Estonian translation, started 3 weeks ago, reached 70% today.
