kmail and gpg problem on SuSE 9.0

Hello, I had a crash incident yesterday that I've described in detail at: http://joeykelly.net/kmail-and-gpg-crash.txt. I do not know why my email client crashed, whether from a bug or a carefully crafted exploit (this I doubt, as the sender is a colleage of mine).  I do not know if this is a SuSE problem or a KDE problem, so I'm posting this in both forums.
