Hi Michael, well, it does not prevent building up the first tunnel (which is a little bit uncomfortable for some users) - but anyway: it sounds interesting and I will try it...

You could built a tunnel from the machine inside to the ssh-gateway, that will automatically forward the traffic to this maschine. Inside-Machine:4567 <----- Tunnel ------> GateWay(external ip):40 Then a single sshfsmount [user@]hostname[:port][/root] mount_point with Port=40 should wor, or am i wrong? This is more comfortable, if you use public-key auth to mount it via /etc/fstab Michael
