I am running Suse 7.3 / 2.4.16 / Susefirewall2 for my cablemodem connection I was recommended mtu1472 on eth0 and add the following line:
iptables -A FORWARD -p tcp --tcp-flags SYN,RST SYN -j TCPMSS --clamp-mss-to-pmtu
If I stop the firewall and start it up again do I have to add the line above again or is this a permanent thing?
if you stop your firewall (and flush the tables) the above mentioned command is gone. you have to put it in the firewall script itself - then it´s called upon the start of your firewall.
what command can I use to see the iptable configuration?
iptables -L greats christoph
