Hi,

as far as i know, this is not a problem of the firewall but the
DSL technologie used. Since DSL is transferd over coper with many
errors ( like interferences, ... ) data is encoded in frames and this
in "super" frames. in this super frames data is garbled...

e.g.

bits 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

become

8 2 7 1 5 3 4 6...

so if there is a short error and some bits are not correctly transfered
the error correction ( hamming distance > 2 ) can correct the errors.

this scrambling unscrambling needs time... which is the main reason why
adsl uses another errorcode with voice-over-adsl...

furthermore when transfering much data, the time delay becomes longer...
and so ping time is going up... but should be only in the time when
data is transfererd...

i dont know why it should be for 10 more minutes ????

i dont know if you can do something against this behaviour, sorry...

if someone is interessted i can search for the descriptions of the
mentioned things.

hope it helps...

greetings

walter.
