Hi All
can anyone help me? I have read tons of online doc re configuring Thin Clients using dhcp or bootp.
Your problem is off-topic here. I'll give you a quick answer though. Dhcpd comes with some examples, but they're not in /etc. The two easiest ways to find those files... 1) locate dhcpd.conf 2) rpm -ql dhcp I did some not-so-thin(*)client setups a while back, so if you get stuck, try mailing me. (*) with a harddisk with a minimal linux Xserver Good luck with it ! Maarten
THE PROBLEM
i keep being refered to /etc/dhcpd.conf or /etc/bootptab. I am unable to find either of these files anywhere on my system whereis returns nothing.
I cannot find these config files even though DHCP and BOOTP-DD2 are installed on my system.
Ultimately I am trying to configure an application server being accessed by terminals using Thin client technology, where each client logs into a KDE destop running on the server.
I am very new to Linux and am finding it very difficult to get to grips with, I have read the manuals, mostly I can't understand the terminology any pointers for some tuition written in plain English
