Hi.
Hi,
I'm having trouble looking for a SuSE-working antivirus solution.
I've made good experience with SuSE 7.0/sendmail/AMaViS/McAffee for Unix: To get McAffee runing I had to install the old libc5 library (a1/shlibs5.rpm) and AMaViS needs some unpacking tools like unarj, unrar, zoo ,... I also had to download 'freeze' (another decmpressor) and 'maildrop' (a MIME handler). I configured AMaViS with options --with-virusdir=/tmp/virusmails (/tmp has its own partition. OK, this is paranoid, I know) and --with-notifysender=no (If not, this effects nice avalanche when a virus is spread over a mailing list). Sendmail.cf has to be changed, to use AMaViS as local mailer (see www.amavis.org/amavis.html). Virus DATs are updated constantly by cron job. This configuration is up since a few month and actually grabed some viruses before they were downloaded to the workstations, where nevertheless virus checker are installed. So, this is working well for me, perhaps for you, too.
