Note that we had to disable nouveau on certain nVidia hardware[1], so the installer can use the generic framebuffer at leastl. I have now submitted a kernel update with a proper fix: MR#705249 As soon as it appears in the update channels, affected systems can start using nouveau (even those installed before the update).
