Another thing you might look at is OpenConferenceWare
(https://github.com/igal/openconferenceware/blob/master/README.markdown).
This is what our Open Source Bridge conference uses and it works quite
well. It might be overkill for your conference but it's MIT-licensed
and I think it works with mobile browsers. It definitely worked with
my Nook Tablet browser in June. ;-)

If you can get everyone on Twitter, I think the Lanyrd mobile web site can do most of this.
I'm game to examine it and see how it works. But the gotcha is already in the first part of the sentence where there's some people who will avoid Twitter and opt for something that isn't closed-source. My cursory look at lanyrd website tells me its a great way to promote a conference, but not a simple way to participate in the conference like a conference app does. I want a guide ready at my fingertips rather than hitting a bunch of buttons to get the program guide.
But as I said, I'll examine it further.
Thanks! Bryen
