I did it sucessfully with 11.4. I do not recommend a live upgrade (zypper dup) but an offline upgrade (dvd, boot, choose "upgrade"). I did comment about it. It is not a supported scenario, so said Kulow time ago. The subject was talked about here:

By the way, the offline upgrade method is not even mentioned in I'm thinking on adding a note somewhere in there, but not sure where exactly. Suggestions?
