I'm not sure I really like it like that, the upper part is too packed with text. And I'd also need to do more inkscape hacking for the medium and small sized ones. Of course, if our designer hero can come up with something better... :D (but please with similar bounding boxes, or I have to adapt a lot of metrics in the script that renders the "n days to go" part) [...]
I also found the upper part is too packed with text. I don't have designer skills either, but, why don't you take the plunge and cut the date from upper part like:
openSUSE Community Week
Then, make bottom part like:
2009.04.20-26 n <- large letter days to go
OK, here is what I came up with: http://linux01.gwdg.de/~pbleser/files/communityweek/ I also made the medium and small sized ones.
Not 100% sure about all the translations either, some of them were translations of "n days until available", which doesn't work for Community Week.
Certainly. Japanese translation for 11.1 release doesn't work for Community Week.
IMHO, English version is just enough for this time, because we don't have so much time to collect translations and I think we should give preference to spreading the word over making multilingualized images.
I kept the translations for those that made sense -- I don't understand all of the languages, but it seemed to fit nevertheless. We can still poke for correctness on the -translations list, should get a quick reply there (and you could already send me a Japanese translation :)).
What text should be shown instead of the "Out now!" that is used for distro versions ?
Although I'm not a native English speaker and don't know they sound good or not, how about: (is) now open ! or (is) running !
Maybe
Right
now!
is simple enough.
Well, we still have 10 days to find something for that :)
Some opinions on the current rendering (see URL above) please, and I'll
put it on counter.o.o later today.
cheers
