A month or so ago someone was asking about linking up o/s exceptions to the C++ exception throwing system. DDD does not store "run program" parameters

Hello, all, I can't get DDD to store the "run program" paramters (i've had this working in earlier versions). . . What is the trick ? Is it a setting or is a directory/file rights problem ? Grtz Dries Pruimboom <End of message>

Knoppix

I have the problem of debugging a huge cod (that I had to change) on a Linux cluster "cpile". Of course I can connect to cpile from my home desktop running SuSE 9.1 In spite of Comcast fast internet having at the same time the Portland Group debugger (pgdbg) running on cpile but displaying on my home box s and a couple of remote terminal-windows opened on cpile and running Konqueror remotely to browse the manualls on-line on cpile ....... slows down my debugging process. Expecially browsing the on-line P.G. documentation (residing on cpile) is a pain ... On the other in the department where I work they only have Windows boxes from which I cannot connect to cpile (Linux cluster) without installing cross-platform packages that require time and experience to make them working. ... I do not have either one at the moment. I was advice to use Knoppix ... I do not know what is is and what it is for ... I wa told: "Have you tried knoppix? It's a cd-only based linux distribution. You can boot directly off of the CD and don't need to install." Does this mean that Knoppix replaces the current operating system even if it does not get installed ? Does it run on top of Windows ? I'm questioning the speed of this solution ... How fast can my debugging get if the poor PC processor has to access the CD to be able to connect to cpile and take care of all the message/data exchange between the PC and the Linux cluster.... I'd appreciate your comments and advice about it .. . Thank you in advance, Maura

So I guess it is a known bug that's already fixed. Did you install any Xserver updates with Yast? adjtime doesn't adjust system clock

Hi everybody! I have been reading a lot of old mails in this list about hour adjustment. But I see thay are based on adjusting hardware-clock and system-clock and my problem is diferent. I have a C program that receives the hour from a gps device (connected through a serial port) and tries to adjust the system-clock to that gps-hour. This is possible with a C function called "adjtime". So, the only thing I get using adjtime function is the system-clock is more and more far away each time. Adjtime DOESN'T adjust anything!! I have tested it using "settimeofday" instead of adjtime. Settimeofday changes the time more abruptly and there are more problems with files date. So, is not a good option. My distro is Suse 9.0. I have tested it in Suse 9.1 and it doesn't work. But, I have tested the same program in RedHat 7.2 and 8.0 and adjtime works right!!. The only diference I have seen between Suse and RedHat machines is when I run the command "adjtimex --p". At Suse I got: TICK = 1000 FREQUENCY = 0 And RedHat: TICK = 10000 FREQUENCY = 0 I have tried to change the tick in Suse machines to 10000 but it doesn't let me (it says: "invalid argument") I hope somebody has any idea. You know that rendering to a Pixmap is de-facto depricated? At least you will never ever get accelerated rendering, all will be done in software. This is true for almost all architecture. The 'correct' way to render to off-screen memory is to wait for the ARB_render_target extensions which has been expected to be here for several months now. Just kidding. In reality, the currently only way to render to off-screen memory is to use the GLX_SGIX_pbuffer extension. It is rather awkward to use, and at least the fglrx and nvidia drivers support it. XFree86 busted on SUSE 9.1

When calling makeCurrent() when rendering to a bit map the X-server on SUSE 9.1 dumps. I filed a bug through the SUSE web site but no one appears to care about this rather annoying/serious bug. The problem exists on x86-64 and IA32 architecture chips. Other architectures are most likely effected as well but we do not have the HW for me to test this. Has anyone seen this problem before and is there a work around? Does anyone have a newer version of XFree on their SUSE 9.1 distro and can you confirm that the attached code works? bash: no job control in this shell

Hi, I am trying to write some utility scripts which will be invoked during boot time. They in /etc/init.d and with proper links in rc directories. also I use "su" in those scripts. but I get this error message during boot time. bash: no job control in this shell How to resolve this? why readline result weird character?

That RPM just installs a session library, but phpinfo() tells me that the core was compiled with '--disable-session' which seems to mean the library is ignored. I could be wrong - I'm not too well up on how PHP works internally. What does phpinfo() say about sessions on your system?
