I was having a hell of time trying to compile sylpheed-claws 0.9.7. Now it is working but without ghostscript plugin. gtk(1/2), glib(1/2) problems seems solved. I noticed that PKG_CONFIG_PATH point to /opt/gnome/lib/pkgconfig. Then I noticed in the original didge's .spec rm -rf $RPM_BUILD_ROOT%{prefix}/include/sylpheed rm $RPM_BUILD_ROOT%{prefix}/%{_lib}/pkgconfig/sylpheed-claws.pc and %{prefix} points to /usr/X11R6/ The new configure.ac of ghostscript plugin 0.6 need the .pc file and it seems to need the include dir too. Furthermore the generated sylpheed-claws.pc file seems not suited for SUSE 9.0... The idea was to just "move" sylpheed-claws.pc where SUSE's pkg-config expect it. But I was wondering how many things I'm going to break. I gave a look to mmj's The SuSE Package-Conventions but didn't find anything that should point me to adopt the most standard/lasting solution.
