Bjarne's book is sort-of the reference on C++ -- it is good to have. If you're starting, then you might want to get the one by Koenig and Moo: Accelerated C++. My recommandatation for beginners in C++.

Yeah I second that - we use Koenig & Moo on the ACCU mentored development beginners program (see http://www.accu.org/ , which also has reviews on a -lot- of programming book, not just C++). Gaby - I didn't realise you were on this list :) alan -- http://www.ibgames.net/alan Registered Linux user #6822 http://counter.li.org Winding Down - Weekly Tech Newsletter - subscribe at http://www.ibgames.net/alan/winding/mailing.html
