Need help to get MACE and D-Link DFE-530TX+ working (Suse 7.1)

      I have been struggling too long on this. I have an Apple
PowerPC 8550 Workgroup Server (604 processor - beige case).

The (built-in to kernel?) MACE driver for the onboard ethernet
works under 2.2.18, and that's all. It doesn't seem to be in the
standard 2.4.2 kernel??

I can't get a driver to work for the D-Link with either 2.2.18 or
2.4.2. I have downloaded software drivers directly from D-Link as well
as tried to use the latest drivers from sylid or whatever.

I just want to get this box up and use it for some simple firewall/
masquerading.

Sheeh!! Please help.
