Once upon a time, well, to be exact, on Donnerstag 22 Februar 2001 07:36, Even struck the keys thus:
I have no idea any more! it is probably easy but i can't figure this out
I have a PowerBook G3 (bronze) SuSE 7.0 kernel 2.4.1
a week ago i figured that i should update the kernel from the SuSE Site. so i downloaded the rpm files and installed them.
Then, I rebooted the machine and no modules got loaded. confused and disturbed i managed to cd my way into the /lib/modules/ dir but everything was there.
I used insmod -k and everything was OK ( until next time I reboot) but in the long run manually load every module is not very fun.
So how do i get the kernel to figure out the path to the modules?
If you install Kernel 2.4x please also download and install the new modutils
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/ppc/kernel/modutils-2.4.1-0.ppc.rpm
Done and installed, but I still get: modprobe :can't locate module eth0 Regards Even
