I updated SuSE 6.4'kernel on my Powermac 8500 (standard adb mouse) to 2.2.16 by using the rpm's on SuSE's ftp site, and following the instructions found on sdb.suse.de. I modified each reference to /dev/adbmouse to /dev/input/mice in X86Config and rc.config, with the ps2/IMPS2 protocol where appropriate. I downloaded and installed the devs.rpm package as well to update /dev (this created the /dev/input/mice nodes)
It looks I still have no luck with the new input layer: no mouse support.
Have I forgotten another essential configuration file?
You are using BootX. So it can easily happen that you boot the "wrong" kernel. Please check the kernel version with cat /proc/version Check that XF86Config contains really the new input file, xsfb replaces the file with every reboot. http://support.suse.de/en/sdb/html/olh_ppc_framebuffer.html Try if it works with gpm at the console, verify the GPM_PARAMS in rc.config. GPM_PARAM=" -t ps2 -m /dev/input/mice" Use /sbin/init.d/gpm restart when graphical login is active. Gruss Olaf -- $ man clone BUGS Main feature not yet implemented...
