This seems to come from one of those whacko KMP macros. Can we just ignore these in build-compare? If the only difference is the build counter, then ignore it?

If it matters, it matters. If it doesn't matter then the macro should be fixed.
In this case, we should change the pre/post handling and replace any release number in it like we do in other cases.
