Have you tried SUSE Studio? Need to create a Live CD, an app you want
to package and distribute , or create your own linux distro. Give SUSE
Studio a try. www.susestudio.com.

But why do you create a new kernel package from scratch? I'd say youThen I will try this way!
could save a lot of work by branching from one of the already existing
packages (like for example, in the project Kernel:HEAD). This way,
collaboration will be much easier in the long run.
