The package (spec file) requires apache2-mod_php5 and php5 >= 5.1.2, and the latter package brings along /usr/bin/php - but not as a "provides", obviously.
I can only see /usr/bin/php5 in the php5 package. How is /usr/bin/php created?
OK, I see: it's an update alternative. Then I suggest you ignore that and patch your package to use /usr/bin/php5 directly instead of relying on the symlink - you require php5 anyway.
Indeed, thats the best solution. Shame on my head that I did not find it and grace to you for mentioning it! :-) Thanks!
