[opensuse-packaging] Do we really need the gpm package (general purpose mouse for console)

Does it still make sense to ship this package and compile our packages against
it or should it get dropped?
It's build required by the following packages:
aalib
brltty
dialog
installation-images
loki_setup
xemacs
emacs
ncurses
vim
mc
and thus gets installed on each and every system.
