I'll have to think about where would be a suitable location for it under opensuse.org, at which point it can move to their servers.
In fact, there is a direct link at openSUSE wiki, at the place I thought most suitable: http://en.opensuse.org/Documentation#Developer_Documentation
Which points to the PDF version, not an online version.
I prefer to have it done this way, the version on Novell's site is regularly updated from SVN. And at the same repository lies HTML version also - it would be good enough to link it directly from the wiki I think, I just did not know that someone would like to have a HTML version. Here is a link to all the files: http://forgeftp.novell.com//library/SUSE%20Package%20Conventions/
That's a useful link but there's a missing file, namely one describing the RPM package style which is part one of the PDF. Also, while the other pages are available to view online, once you find them, the spc.html file isn't. Trying to view it online results in the page being offered for download.
Would still be quite useful to have it online (read: as HTML) again.
Or maybe in a form where people can add comments, hints, additional information.
Well, I also do not think this is a good idea. SPC is a part of much larger documented maintained in SUSE (I am its maintainer) and it does not make sense to make a version different from an upstream version.
I can see a good point for allowing comments and hints, and even other additional information, provided that these additions are marked as such.
I will gladly incorporate any information, hints or comennts someone sends me - it would make sense to create a wiki page with instructions how to contribute to SPC.
That's also a good idea. Link to the main pages on forgeftp.novell.com and have the wiki pages almost like a discussion page, or a forum[0]. There's also the possibility of holding the discussions about bits of the guidelines on this list. [0] Are there actually any plans to create an openSUSE web forum?
