Hi,
But you are confusing Requires and BuildRequires here?
No, I am not confusing Requires and BuildRequires, I am talking about Requires of -devel packages and reduction of Requires, not BuildRequires. There is a connection between them because if A buildrequires B and B requires C, A effectively buildrequires C and changes to the relation between B and C can have an impact on A. But if A buildrequires C and silently relies on B satisfying that dependency, this does not look correct to me, it should buildrequire C directly. Reducing BuildRequires is certainly a nice thing, too, especially from a distributor's point of view, but I mostly care about Requires because this is what makes a user-visible installation large.
