Wow... I always thought that the vast majority of the Linux community used GNOME or KDE, but clearly LXDE can't be neglected ;-)
Here's a low-res preview of the updated poster: http://en.opensuse.org/File:DeskEnvPoster.png
I'll repackage posters.zip and slides.zip asap. (If the modification timestamp on top of the download page still reads "Updated Feb 15", I haven't updated the ZIP yet.) http://www.box.net/shared/hxllbeglvc http://www.box.net/shared/mhcya0t2p9

It's the default for the popular Knoppix live CD and is the (unnoffician?) Ubuntu Lite desktop in Lubuntu.
Certainly we don't want to crowd things, but if it can be done neatly, by all means include LXDE.

+1 for LXDE. It's a fast moving project, having just been added in 11.3. IMO Xfce has lost its way, being now nearly the same memory footprint as Gnome.

Hi Stuart,

Listing four environments would be overkill if you ask me. I've followed the rule of threes: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rule_of_three_(writing)
This is by no means objectively measurable, but to me it just feels right to list three environments instead of two or four.
Here's what I'm suggesting: if there's reasonable proof that LXDE is more popular and more active than Xfce, I'll replace the mention of Xfce with LXDE. But I can't make everyone happy and keep the ad relatively easy to read at the same time. (If there's a majority that wants to see LXDE added, I'll change it of course.)

Dear Pieter
Is it possible to add LXDE also after XFCE?
I know we can go on for ever, but I am building a specific project around LXDE, using LDM as a login manager on thin clients running kiwi-ltsp onnection to a server which then runs a remote x desktop with KDE?
Kind Regards, Stuart

I've updated the "desktop environments" poster and slide. Low-res preview here: http://en.opensuse.org/images/9/9b/DeskEnvPoster.png
I've updated posters.zip and slides.zip to include the new version. Download links remain the same. You should see "Updated Feb 15, 2011" at the top of the download page.
