By standard, acroread is not able to display japanese PDF-files (e.g. http://www.nihonkiin.or.jp/ad/05catalogue/pdf/p02.pdf). On the Adobe webside there is a tar-file with the required fonts. But where to install this fonts? The tar-file contains a readme with instructions.
Or much better, can't this be part of the SuSE distribution?
No, the license doesn't allow redistribution.
You can use xpdf or kpdf to display Japanese PDF-files, these viewers
work Japanese by default on SuSE Linux.
