Hi:

Currently Kernel:HEAD failed to build completely

This is due to the kernel tarball's version number not matching
what it reports its version number as during the build.

e.g. linux-3.0-rc2.tar.bz2 vs 3.0.0-rc2

Michal's fixed this in the upstream kernel already. I'll pull in
the patches for our tree.

Or not. SUBLEVEL=0 is in Makefile, so the "empty" fix doesn't do
anything. Looks like we'll need to work around it.

I'm still not sure if the SUBLEVEL will be set or not by Linus in the
"final" 3.0 release. I tried to get a straight answer about this,
but couldn't, last week.

So it's still uncertian how this is going to work.

Personally, I'd like to see him release "3.0.0" which makes my life
easier by releasing "3.0.1" and a bit less confusing for people who
are trying to figure out the relationship between "3.0" and "3.0.1"

I asked for it as well, but I am far from certain that Linus will
listen. I have the odd feeling that he is happy to see everything around
break, as a kid playing a trick to his neighbors. I just hope he'll get
back to reason quickly...

But in the end, I'm just happy the number changed, so I can't
complain that much...
