There's been a thread on opensuse-packaging about how to create a KMP to update a standard module.

In my case, I want to have a ext4 replacement kmp in my obs home directory.

From the the thread on packaging, it appears I need to branch a full kernel package, patch the ext4 code and then compile just the one module.

Not necessarily. Check home:seife/ipw2200-eepromwrite-kmp or home:seife:work/sphairon-homelink-kmp in the buildservice. It's a bit hacky, but it worked for me ;) -- Stefan Seyfried "Any ideas, John?"
