Hi, I messed up my boot yesterday, probably my fault, I was removing old kernels and shrunk my boot partition to give extra to swap but when my 11.2rc2 system refused to boot I spent the whole morning trying to restore the bootloader because my favourite tool kexec wouldn't work. Instead it output "Reading legacy_max_head failed" and kexec -e simply refused to boot anything. I googled the error message and came up with an old bug bnc#383210 and a patch by Bernhard Walle dating back to May last year. Is it possible that this patch is now preventing kexec from working? Another question is : where does the 2.6.31-10-desktop kernel come from? I can't seem to find it in any of my repositories.
