hi jeff,

following the steps as above, @

rpmbuild -bb kernel.spec

i get,

error: File /usr/src/packages/SOURCES/kernel-
No such file or directory

grep CUSTOM *
kernel.spec:Source: kernel-
kernel.spec:Provides: kernel-
kernel.spec:cp $KBUILD_IMAGE
kernel.spec:ln -s efi/vmlinuz- $RPM_BUILD_ROOT/boot/
kernel.spec:cp arch/powerpc/boot/$KBUILD_IMAGE
kernel.spec:cp $KBUILD_IMAGE
kernel.spec:cp .config $RPM_BUILD_ROOT/boot/config-

which is a result, i presume, of @

make menuconfig -> General Setup

[*] Prompt for development and/or incomplete code/drivers
--> (-xenCUSTOM) Local version - append to kernel release
[ ] Automatically append version information to the version string

'good practice' sez rename the kernel ... not ok to do so here? or, to
be done in other fashion?
