(Not sure if this is a KDE3 matter or simply openSUSE.)


click on the kde3 icon in the panel, click on Personal settings, click on file association, click on the illustrator icon, move the app you want first to the top of the list. This assumes that adobe is already nstalled and is visible to the system.
