Hello,
If I disable the perfomance schema with
[mysqld] performance_schema=OFF
in ~/.config/akonadi/mysql-local.conf, then the mysqld process reduces its memory usage by roughly 1/2, with no ill effect as far as I can see. Should I prepare a patch for this?
According to the documentation, performance_schema is off by default in mysql [1] and in recent mariadb versions [2]
Unless you still use openSUSE 13.1 *and* MariaDB, adding this setting should have no effect (except raising the minimum MySQL version from 5.1.3 to 5.5.3).
You're right. I had disabled the schema in 13.1, then forgot that in 13.2 it is disabled by default.
